This post told everyone to go an make the day "ridiculously amazing" yesterday... well I must say, that was my day in a nutshell... Amazing!
First of all... I started the day with this little gem.... a "Cherry-Berry Green Protein Smoothie"...
I have been on a bit of a cherry kick the past couple days after purchasing them from Meijer's.... they are so good in anything.... even in smoothies... and this was a first for me! So here is the recipe I threw together... and it's so good!
"Cherry-Berry Green Protein Smoothie"
- 1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1/2 Scoop Strawberry Protein (I used GNC Amplified Wheybolic extreme 60) but, 1/2 Cup frozen strawberries would be a good sub for the protein
- 2 Tsp. Chia seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp Flax seed
- 1/2 Banana
- 1/2 Cup pitted Michigan Sweet Cherries
- A few Handfuls of Spinach
- Combine all ingredients in a blender, Blend until smooth, and ENJOY!
After this wonderful little creation, I spent the day with one of my best friends in the whole world... and it was a definite needed girls day!
We took a little adventure to Saugatuck, MI! They have the cutest little shops all over town and it is located right on a harbor and it is absolutely beautiful.

Just about every street in that town looked like this... all with that nostalgic look and just wonderful.
And with these wonderful little shops comes lots of wonderful little things to invest in...
Like this wonderful little find... I mean who doesn't love a little dog made completely out of beads... it was just darling... they also had just about any little creature you could possibly want... but I liked this one!
OR.... how about these lovely ladies hanging out, outside of a boutique? they sure were stylin.... A picture with them was a must! if only I had some neon pants to match... oh well... maybe next time!

There were so many neat handmade crafts... like that table.... how cool is that? I wish I could have gotten a better picture, because that one doesn't even do it justice....
Not only was Saugatuck FILLED with tons of little stores... it was also FILLED with tons of little sweet shops.... like this one...
A gourmet cupcake shop!... how awesome is that? ... we thought it was closed so we didn't go in... turns out it wasn't... Glad we thought that though.... I could have done some serious damage in there.
The CHO-CHO Cookie dough one looks phenomenal!
We did however stop into an ice cream shop... who doesn't love a little indulgence now and then? and the heat was ridiculous... so ice cream really was a must. It was just a one-scooper so I didn't feel too bad hehe
Salted Caramel... the BEST ice cream I have ever had... and oh my....
it was melting faster than we could eat it.... quite unfortunate really.
So after melting in downtown Saugatuck... we decided to take a visit to my bestie's mother's house ...where there is a POOL... and let me tell you... it was glorious... perfect temperature and relaxing.... what a great way to follow a day of shopping!
We got a little dog fix in too.... George and Bella were great company while we relaxed :)
So once dinner time rolled around we went to this AMAZING place...
The Grille House.... it was an old farm plantation transformed to restaurant and definitely kept that old timey environment. It was quite fantastic. I had the BEST chicken sandwich I've had in a long time... this place will definitely be visited again... my mister would love it.... he's a steak and potato kinda guy and this place has perfected that combo!
It even has a history... apparently it's haunted.... a man died there and was buried in an unmarked grave on the property... people have seen his ghost?... how fun!
The manager even printed us our own little history page, since it was my first time there!
I think I found the man though...
he was just doing some gardening is all....
So that summed up my "ridiculously amazing" day. It was so much fun... and much needed. I can't wait to go back again someday!

Have a wonderful day!
p.s.... I am not good at getting my picture taken hehe!
